Thanks for choosing to test the Analog Devices LTC5100 VCSEL Driver IC.
These instructions are provided to help make the process quick and simple.

In the prior era of Windows 98 & Windows ME, Linear Technology had a beautiful
Windows program with full graphical interface. Now since Windows XP and
Windows ME are no longer supported, and the old DC636 interface board is no
longer available, we encourage customers to use a more modern platform
such as Python for the test and control. Hence, this Python program
is supplied.

To use, simply have Python 2.7 or later installed and running.
Your PC will need one availble USB port.

Copy all the test files in the zip archive into one directory on your computer.

Testing requires a DC590B USB-to-I2C hardware interface board, readily
obtainable from Analog Devices. Communications to the DC590B requires
installing the USPP Python serial port driver, which is really very simple.
In fact, there is no installation necessary. If you've already copied
the test files into the same working directory as the main python
program, as instructed above, you're done ith this step!

The files required for the USPP Serial port are SerialPort_win.py and uspp.py.
Compiled versions SerialPort_win.pyc and uspp.pyc are also included.
Again, these files must reside in the same directory as the Python test program.

For additional instructions, see the Quick Start Guide on the LTC5100 product page.
Also, there are some comments within the main Python test program that will help.
