====================================================================== - TrekIce - Trek-Ice Ethernet JTAG Emulator Version 1.10.0 Analog Devices ADI DSPs feature the White Mountain Line of DSP Development Tools ====================================================================== Trek-Ice is a SHARC JTAG Debug Target for Visual-DSP 4.1.x and Visual-DSP++ 1.00 or greater. It will provide full JTAG debug support for all 2106x and 2116x processors using an external emulator through an ethernet network. ====================================================================== Requirements ====================================================================== - VisualDSP 4.1.x and VisualDSP++1.00 or greater. NOTE: Version 4.1.x is still supported but the new statistical profiling feature will not be available. - A Trek-ICE JTAG Emulator - Windows 95B, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 SP3 or greater, or Windows 2000. ====================================================================== Installation and Usage Notes ====================================================================== - After installation the TrekControl utility must be run to to setup registry entries. - After installation the ICE Configurator utility MUST be run before starting a debug session. - When switching between different target boards be sure to first close the current debugger session, then move the emulator pod to the new target and finally start a new debugger session on the new target. "Hot swapping" between different target boards using "New Session" or "Select Session" from the debugger menu is not supported by the ICE. ====================================================================== Upgrade from version 1.00.0 or 1.00.1 ====================================================================== - After installation, launch TrekControl.exe to connect to Trek. Download the files SharcSocStubCE.exe and WmSharcIceCE.dll to the Trek. Reboot Trek. ====================================================================== Features/Bug fixes in this release ====================================================================== - New features: * The Sharc 21161 target option has been added. - Bug fixes: * When creating a multi-processor session and it contains unknown processors is now fixed. ====================================================================== Known Issues ====================================================================== - Physically resetting the target processor is not supported while the ICE is connected and halted. If a reset must be applied then the target should be in a running state or the debugger should first be exited. - Memory fills using the "Memory->Fill..." command on either a 2106x or a 2116x will not be verified when "Verify all writes to target memory" is checked in the Target Options dialog. Loading programs and manually entering data into memory windows will be properly verified. - 2116x PEy multiplier registers display the PEx multiplier register values. Internal operation of these registers is unaffected. - 2116x MS cycle counter register is not displayed properly. - Scrolling through MP memory regions on a 2106x device may cause the debugger to display invalid data in memory and register windows. To fix this, simply refresh the windows (F12 or Window->Refresh) and the correct data will be reloaded from the target. ====================================================================== Change Log ====================================================================== 1.00.2 - Added statistical profiling (under VisualDSP++ 1.0) - Improvements for debugging multiprocessor targets. - Fixed Core Hang bugs during startup and loading.
