====================================================================== - WmSharcIceHp - High Performance SHARC JTAG Emulator Debug Target DLL Version 1.10.5 Analog Devices, Inc. ====================================================================== WmSharcIceHp is a High Performance SHARC JTAG Debug Target for VisualDSP++ 2.0 or greater. It will provide full JTAG debug support for all 2106x, 2116x, and 2126x processors using an external emulator such as the HPPCI-ICE from Analog Devices. ====================================================================== Requirements ====================================================================== - VisualDSP++ 2.0 or greater with SHARC support - An HPPCI-ICE Emulator - Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 with SP3 or greater, Windows 2000, Windows ME, or Windows XP. ====================================================================== Installation and Usage Notes ====================================================================== - Operation under Windows requires the proper JTAG Emulator Driver from Analog Devices, Inc. to be installed and running. The driver installation is integrated into the Emulation Tools setup for Windows NT. - After installation the JTAG ICE Configurator utility MUST be run before starting a debug session. - When switching between different target boards be sure to first close the current debugger session, then move the emulator pod to the new target and finally start a new debugger session on the new target. "Hot swapping" between different target boards using "New Session" or "Select Session" from the debugger menu is not supported by the ICE. ====================================================================== Features in this release ====================================================================== - Added support for the ADSP-2126x family. ====================================================================== Fixes in this release ====================================================================== ====================================================================== Known Issues ====================================================================== - Limited support for ADSP-2126x external memory. Note that viewing external memory through a memory window may conflict with Parallel Port use by the target application. External memory accesses through the debugger is extrememly slow, this is being addressed. - Physically resetting the target processor is not supported while the ICE is connected and halted. If a reset must be applied then the target should be in a running state or the debugger should first be exited. - 2116x device type may not be available in the configurator when run under a non-administrator account in Windows NT after updating the emulator tools from version 4.10.0b2 or earlier of these tools. Contact technical support (dsptools.support@analog.com) for the fix to this issue. - Memory fills using the "Memory->Fill..." command on either a 2106x or a 2116x will not be verified when "Verify all writes to target memory" is checked in the Target Options dialog. Loading programs and manually entering data into memory windows will be properly verified. - 21160 revision 0.x MS cycle counter register does not show proper value, it is a duplicate of the LS register. - Scrolling through MP memory regions on a 2106x device may cause the debugger to display invalid data in memory and register windows. To fix this, simply refresh the windows (F12 or Window->Refresh) and the correct data will be reloaded from the target. - Bits transfered to IMASKP from IRPTL upon servicing an interrupt, may be shifted right by 1 bit. This is a bug on ADSP-21160 Rev 0.0 and Rev 0.1 silicon. Rev 1.0 and higher parts fix this problem. ADSP-21161 All revisions up to 1.1 - On ADSP-2126x data hardware breakpoint 1 is not functional, please only use data hardware breakpoint 2. ====================================================================== Change Log ====================================================================== Revision 1.10.5 - Fixed TAR-15586 (External code memory load fails) - Fixed TAR-15584 (Fill of large PM ranges fails) - Fixed TAR-15424 (destructive read of DAI_IRPTL_H & DAI_IRPTL_L) - Fixed TAR-15379 (strange flags behavior) - Fixed TAR-15192 (flags register missing child bits) - Fixed TAR-15153 (using outdated register names) - Fixed TAR-15151 (external memory access) - Fixed TAR-13887 (mode 2 shadow registers show non-existant bits) - Fixed TAR-13784 (tcl command dspload fails due to no 21262 support) - Fixed TAR-13761 (loading .dxe when using SPI boot mode) Revision 1.10.4 - Fixed TAR-15190 (wmsharcice.dl causes crash if configurator is not run first) - Fixed TAR-15154 (2116x, 2126x Emulator doesn't support DM_6464 memory type correctly) - Fixed TAR-14549 (Frequency selection dialog crashes debugger) - Fixed TAR-14498 (2116x Extended register child bits are not getting set correctly) - Fixed TAR-14394 (2126x Emulator crashes VisualDSP when trying to load) - Fixed TAR-14330 (2126x Loading Any Program Crashes Emulator) - Fixed TAR-14237 (21161 code in ext 32 mem packed incorrectly) - Fixed TAR-14215 (2126x Data verification errors loading program HPPCI-ICE ) - Fixed TAR-14039 (Readme file for Sharc HPPCI-ICE indicates only VisualDSP++ 3.0) - Fixed TAR-13926 (Update readme HPPCI-ICE & Summit-ICE) Revision 1.00.1 - Full debug support for 2106x and 2116x families Revision 1.00.0 - Initial release.
