These instructions describe how to install the ADRF6612 Feb 2014 customer software GUI, as well as the Cypress Generic USB driver, onto a Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 PC running a 32bit or 64 bit OS.

1. The user will need to have Microsoft .NET 4.0 installed on their PC. This is available for free on the Microsoft Website, www.microsoft.com.

2. Extract the ADRF6612_Feb_2014_customer_install.zip file and run the file ADRF6612_Feb_2014_customer_installer.exe. A folder will appear should appear on the PC desktop entitled ADRF6612 Customer Software Feb 2014.

3. This instruction is only necessary if the PC is running Windows 7 or Windows 8 OS. Note that there is no harm doing this if the PC is running XP, Vista or Windows 7 32 bit OS. In the extracted subdirectory 'ADI_Windows7_RFG_Drivers', run the ADI_RFG_Drivers.exe file. Running this file will allow the installation of the Cypress CyUSB.sys driver as a verified, signed driver.

4. Once the installer is finished, you will need to install the USB driver. Plug the ADRF6612 eval board into the PC USB port. Right click on My Computer and then select Properties. In Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8, select the Device Manager option. In XP, select the hardware tab and then Device Manager. In Device Manager, select the last category, Universal Serial Bus Controllers. There will be an entry that either has a yellow flag on it (for unknown device) or it will say ADF4xxx USB Driver (if you have installed previous ADI software). Right click on this device and select 'update driver'. Browse to select the directory 'C:\Program Files\ADRF6612_NSN_customer_software_Feb_2014'. Click on 'Next' and Windows should complete the driver installation.
