AD9726 Evaluation Board
=======================

Software:
Included in this archive is a ZIP file with a Windows based
executable (EXE) file and an associated library (DLL) file.
Unzip the program file to any local subdirectory or drive.
Unzip the library file to the C:\Windows\System32 directory
as the program file will look for it there.

The AD9726SPI program is a simple tool for writing and/or
reading AD9726 programmable registers. Refer to the AD9726
datasheet for register descriptions. Most functions occur
only when the user clicks the appropriate command button.
That is, to make a particular choice, the user must click
the associated WRITE or READ button.

Hardware:
The software communicates with the evaluation board via the
PC's parallel port. Connect the included adapter to the
connector on the back of the PC. Connect the included RJ11
cable between the adapter and the connector on the evaluation
board. Note that the software will address the parallel port
as LPT1 by default however, this can be changed to LPT2 from
the menu bar of the software window.

Other required connections are 3.3V and 2.5V power supplies
and a sinewave frequency source for the clock input. Connect
a spectrum analyzer or oscilloscope (50 ohm input) to view
the analog output.

LVDS data input to the DAC is done through the differential
connector on the bottom of the board. This directly mates to
the ADI DAC Pattern Generator Board. However, some accessory
adapter boards are available should you need interface to a
different data source. Contact the factory for assistance.
