The ADMP421 is a low cost, low power, digital output bottom ported omni-directional MEMS microphone. The ADM421 consists of a MEMS microphone element, an output amplifier and a 4th order sigma delta modulator. The digital interface allows for the PDM (Pulse Density Modulated) output of two microphones to be time multiplexed on a single data line using a single clock.
The ADMP421 has a high SNR and a high sensitivity making it an excellent choice for far field applications. The ADMP421 has a flat wideband frequency response resulting in natural soundwith high intelligibility. Low current consumption and a sleep mode enable long battery life for portable applications. The ADMP421 complies with the TIA-920 Telecommunications Telephone Terminal Equipment Transmission Requirements for Wideband Digital Wireline Telephones standard.
The ADMP421 will be available in a very thin 3 mm × 4 mm × 1 mm surface mount package. It is reflow solder compatible with no sensitivity degradation. It is halide-free.

EVAL-ADMP421Z
ADMP421Z Evaluation Board
Product Detail
Please visit the InvenSense ADMP421 product page for all technical support and sales information.
This PCB includes the ADMP421 and a bypass capacitor mounted on a rigid PCB. The 12-pin header connects all microphone signals directly to a codec evaluation board such as the EVAL-ADAU1761Z or EVAL-ADAU1361Z, or to a custom evaluation system.
EVAL-ADMP421Z-FLEX
ADMP421 FLEX Evaluation Board
Product Detail
Please visit the InvenSense ADMP421 product page for all technical support and sales information.
This flex PCB includes just the ADMP421 and a bypass capacitor. The five wires allow an easy connection to the microphone’s PDM output data, clock, left/right select, VDD, and ground into your evaluation system. Two EVAL-ADMP421Z-FLEX boards can share common data, clock, VDD, and ground signals to multiplex both microphone signals on a common data line.
