An Introduction to 5G Open RAN Architecture, Solutions and ADI’s Newest Transceiver
Advancements from Open RAN are disrupting the wireless infrastructure market. Analog Devices will review market dynamics, challenges and opportunities of O-RAN. We will introduce our newest transceiver, the ADRV9029, a 4T4R 200MHz SoC with integrated Digital Pre-Distortion and Crest Factor Reduction. It’s perfect for O-RAN applications. We will also present an O-RAN compliant 4T4R O-RU reference design platform with a 7.2 optical port (eCPRI). The radio unit includes a modular RF Front End to allow for fast prototyping of Band and Power variants.
Brad Brannon has worked at ADI for 37 years following his graduation from North Carolina State University. At ADI he has held positions in design, test, applications, and system engineering. Currently Brad is developing reference designs for O-RAN and supporting those customers. Brad has authored several articles and application notes on topics that span clocking data converters, designing radios, and testing ADCs.
Padraig McDaid received his bachelor of engineering degree in electronic engineering from University of Limerick, Ireland, in 1998. Padraig manages the Switch and Multiplexer Marketing Department in Analog Devices, with a primary focus on MEMS technology research and development. Prior to joining Analog Devices in 2009, Padraig worked in various RF design, applications and marketing roles, within multinational companies and small-to-medium size businesses.
