Frequently Asked Question

I have a clocking scheme which requires several different division ratios simultaneously. I have a frequency plan, but I'm concerned about crosstalk. How much of a problem is this with your clock distribution chips?

outputs and output types (LVPECL, LVDS, CMOS) which are being used. The device data sheets give some indication of the crosstalk performance in the specifications table by giving jitter values with and without interferers present. Of course, this is just indicative of the achievable performance, because there are a very large set of different frequencies and output combinations which can be encountered.

In general, though, the LVPECL outputs are virtually unaffected by any other LVPECL outputs. The LVPECL, LVDS and CMOS outputs are more affected by other LVDS and CMOS outputs.
