ECG Detects T-Wave Alternans and Late Potential Waveforms

Basic AAMI-ECII-compliant, diagnostic-quality ECG circuitry will not detect T-wave alternans and late potential waveforms. To address this challenge, ADI's AD7982 18-bit, 1 MSPS ADC and the ADA4941 single-supply differential ADC driver provide the additional dynamic range required to trace these signals. To acquire late potentials, the Simpson lead configuration of X, Y, and Z is supported (see at right). Two channels of pacing artifact detection circuitry are used to better support multichamber bipolar pacing. The 0 V and reference channels are used for autogain and auto-offset calibration via software.
