The EVAL-AD7927CB can be used to evaluate the AD7927. The AD7927 is a 8-Channel 200 ksps, 12-Bit ADC with a Channel Sequencer.
This Technical Note describes the evaluation board for the AD7927, which is a 8-Channel, 12-bit successive-approximation ADC. The part operates from a single 2.7 V to 5 V power supply and features a throughput rate of up to 200 kSPS. Full details on the AD7927 are available in the AD7927 data sheet which can be downloaded from the AD7927 product page. It should be consulted in conjunction with this Technical Note when using the Evaluation Board. All documentation needed for running the Evaluation Board is available on the CD containing the software that accompanies the EVAL-AD7927CB.
On-board components include an AD780, which is a pin programmable +2.5 V or +3 V ultra high precision bandgap reference, REF192 +2.5 V Reference, the AD713, and AD712 op-amps. Various link options are explained in detail on pages 2 and 3. Interfacing to this board is through a 96-Way connector. This 96-Way connector is compatible with the Evaluation board controller (EVAL-CONTROL BRD2) which is also available from Analog Devices.
External sockets are provided for REFIN, SCLK, DIN, DOUT and CS signals, two biased-up circuits for bipolar input signals and eight sockets (Vin0 to Vin7) for the Analog input channels.
Included in the EVAL-AD7927CB evaluation board package is software for controlling and evaluating the performance of the AD7927 when it is operated with the EVALUATION BOARD CONTROLLER and also included is all documentation required to configure the EVAL-AD7927CB Evaluation Board. The EVAL-AD7927CB Demonstration/Evaluation Software runs under Windows 95, 98, 2000 and NT. The user interface on the PC is via a dedicated program written especially for the EVAL-AD7927.
