Avnet Electronics Introduces the Analog Devices Blackfin® BF609 Embedded Vision Starter Kit

The Blackfin Embedded Vision Starter Kit combines a versatile hardware platform with the necessary software development tools to enable the building of high performance, embedded vision systems. Based on the low-cost, dual core Blackfin BF609 processor, the kit is ideal for exploring advanced video analytics . The Pipeline Vision Processor (PVP) included on the BF609, simplifies and accelerates image processing algorithms. The CrossCore® Embedded Studio development tools streamline software development, while the included ICE-100B In-Circuit Emulator speeds application debug. The Starter Kit includes it all and is a great way to begin exploring the growing applications of embedded vision technology.

Syfx Tekworks has announced Syfx SuperMIC has been ported to Blackfin processors.  Syfx SuperMIC is an input-side software suite with audiophile quality, instant-response, low power compander and other proprietary filtering algorithms, ideal for enhancing intelligibility in mobile and Enterprise conferencing using a single low-cost microphone.  SuperMIC’s instant attack allows soft and loud speakers to be heard equally well, without delays, attenuations or distortions during transitions.  Distortion-free on-the-fly configurability enables unique audio zooming capability in tandem with video zooming in mobile cameras and camcorders. It also offers an unsurpassed level of Audio security detection to complement video and other security surveillance measures.
Bluetechnix introduces the Core Module eCM-BF609 which is optimized for performance and parallel data processing. The module integrates the dual-core Blackfin BF609 processor, DDR2 SDRAM, flash, Ethernet PHY and power supply at a size of 44x33mm!  The eCM-BF609 is designed for industrial and commercial applications. It addresses 256MByte DDR2 SDRAM via its dedicated DDR2 interface and has an onboard SPI flash of 8MByte.
Blackfin and SHARC Software Modules
Analog Devices offers a broad collection of free algorithmic software modules for Blackfin and SHARC processors that are optimized for use with CrossCore Embedded Studio (CCES) and VisualDSP++ 5.0. The CCES software add-in's contain fully functioning demonstration & example code and some support CCES Code Sketches. Here are our recent additions to ADI's software modules. Note that some modules require licensing by the IP holder before they can be acquired from ADI: (examples include all DTS, Dolby and Microsoft modules).
