A difference amplifier is a special purpose amplifier designed to measure differential signals, otherwise known as a subtractor. A key feature of a difference amplifier is its ability to remove unwanted common mode signals, known as common mode rejection (CMR). Unlike most types of amplifiers, difference amplifiers are typically able to measure voltages beyond the supply rails, and are used in applications where large dc or ac common-mode voltages are present. They are ideal for current and voltage monitoring. We offer a range of difference amplifiers, optimized for low distortion, low power, or high voltage performance.

For higher speed and fully differential amplifiers, please see differential amplifiers. For amplifiers with higher input impedance, please see instrumentation amplifiers.

Help

  • Sort: Click on the arrows beneath the parameter on which you would like to sort, ascending and descending order.

  • Add/Remove Parameters: Click on the Add/Remove Parameters button. Select/deselect the checkbox of the parameter in the add/remove parameter pop up box. Click on "Update" for the table to redraw with new selection of parameters.

  • Filter: Enter the desired value to filter parameter(s) by, and click the "Update Results" button to update the table display.

  • Reset Table: Click "Reset Table" to clear all filters/sorts and restore table back to default view.

  • Quick Filters: When applicable, select a quick filter with preset parameters filtered to narrow the results returned.

  • No Parts Returned: Adjust the filters on your least critical selection parameters in order to broaden your search.
