AD9864 and AD9874 Evaluation Kit
This evaluation board kit supports both the AD9864 and AD9874, general purpose IF subsystem ICs. It consists of a PCB, software and documentation to facilitate bench analysis of the performance of these devices. Since the AD9864 and AD9874 are highly integrated and software configurable ICs, it is recommended that users familiarize themselves with the operation and performance capabilities of these devices with the evaluation board. Note, the evaluation board is designed to interface to a National Instruments NI 6533 digital IO card thus potential users should understand the additive cost implications prior to purchasing the evaluation board. The AD9874-EB can also be interfaced to most DSP evaluation board's with some minor PCB modifications.

Software
The AD9874-EB software provides a convenient graphical user interface allowing for easy access to the various SPI port configuration registers along with real-time frequency and time domain analysis of its output data. A control panel is used to configure and read-back the various SPI registers as well as initiate a self-tuning macro for the AD9874's SD ADC. Upon proper configuration of the AD9874, the user can launch into one of two display panels. The first display panel provides a complex FFT of the decimated I/Q output data as well as a time domain digital scope display and constellation. This display also provides the ability to observe the AD9874's embedded system parameters (i.e. attenuation setting, RSSI, and reset) as well as save the raw I/Q data. The second display allows the user to observe the real FFT of the AD9874's undecimated output of the SD ADC prior to digital demodulation and filtering.

Note: This software is intended for users who have purchased the evaluation board kit and have already previously installed the AD9864(_74)-EB software provided on the CD ROM. Since it is meant as an update to the AD9864(_74) Eval.exe file, the extracted executable file should be placed in the users existing AD9864 or AD9874 directory.
