Controller Boards

The controller boards provide a means of communicating to the PC from the system being evaluated or demonstrated. The SDP controller boards are USB 2.0 capable and provide a range of peripheral interfaces exposed via 120 pin connectors. Data is transferred across these connectors between the controller board and the component or circuit being demonstrated.

There are three SDP controller boards available. The SDP-B, or SDP-Blackfin is the Blackfin ADSPBF527 based controller board and exposes a wide range of the Blackfin peripherals via the 120 pin connectors. The SDP-S, or SDP-Serial, is a Serial ONLY SDP Controller Board. It has serial communications peripherals available on the 120 pin connector. It is a smaller, lower cost, reduced functionality version of the SDP-B. The SDP-H1, or SDP High Speed, has a Xilinx Spartan 6 and the Blackfin ADSPBF527 on board. It has an FMC connector providing LVDS and single ended LVCMOS support.

The System Demonstration Platform (SDP) is a low cost, re-useable and versatile evaluation system. It is comprised of controller, interposer, system function and daughter boards and is compatible with a growing number of ADI component evaluation boards and Circuits from the Lab™ Reference Circuits.
