Our SDR portfolio includes: The AD-FMCOMMSX-EBZ family of rapid development and prototyping boards are high-speed FMC analog modules, incorporating the AD9361 or AD9364 integrated agile RF transceiver ICs, or a discrete signal chain, which seamlessly connect to the Xilinx FPGA development platform ecosystem. These boards are fully customizable by software without any hardware changes and they come with downloadable Linux drivers and bare metal software drivers, schematics, board layout, and design-aid reference materials, all available on their respective Analog Devices wiki sites.

    AD-FMCOMMS2-EBZ - Built upon the AD9361 agile RF transceiver IC, this 2 x 2 SDR rapid prototyping board is tuned for highest RF performance in the 2400 - 2500 MHz region.     AD-FMCOMMS4-EBZ - Built upon the AD9364 agile RF transceiver IC, this 1 x 1 SDR rapid prototyping board can be software-configured for highest RF performance in the 2400 - 2500 MHz region, or can be software-configured to operate over the AD9364's complete RF tuning range of 70 MHz - 6 GHz.

     

     

    The AD-FMCOMMS5-EBZ is a prototyping platform which supports two AD9361 devices, allowing for the creation of a 4 x 4 multiple in / multiple out (MIMO) system. The AD-FMCOMMS5-EBZ board has both wideband channels covering the full 6 GHz tuning range, as well as narrowband channels matched to 2.4 GHz. The board, which is in pre-production, also contains dual ADG918 SPDT switches, which create a calibration matrix between the two AD9361s. This switch matrix hardware, combined with the supplied software, allow for a full digital and RF synchronization between the two AD9361s. For more information, view the webcast.

     

     

    AD9361 - Highly-integrated 2 x 2 agile RF transceiver IC. The AD9361's high-level of programmability and wideband capability make it ideal for a broad range of transceiver applications. This single-chip transceiver combines an RF front-end with a flexible mixed-signal baseband section and integrated frequency synthesizers, simplifying design-in by providing a configurable digital interface to a processor or FPGA.

     

     

    AD9364 - This is a 1 x 1 version of the AD9361 IC. Meeting all of the performance specifications and functionality of the AD9361, the AD9364 provides a lower-cost solution for applications not needing a dual-channel solution.

     


Guidelines for AD9361 and AD9364 Technical Support


  • All schematics, layout recommendations, and specifications in the design package have been verified and insure optimum performance from the AD9361 and AD9364. Adherence to these specifications is necessary in order to achieve the device's rated performance in your design.
  • AD9361 and AD9364 evaluation boards are fully characterized by ADI. If you encounter an issue with your design, you must be able to recreate the issue on the ADI evaluation platform.
  • Questions related to clarification of the content provided in the design file package should be posted on the community forum and will be addressed by the ADI response team. Questions outside of the scope of the design resources provided cannot be supported.
