The AD8314 is a complete low cost subsystem for the measurement and control of RF signals in the frequency range of 100 MHz to 2.7 GHz, with a typical dynamic range of 45 dB, intended for use in a wide variety of cellular handsets and other wireless devices. It provides a wider dynamic range and better accuracy than possible using discrete diode detectors. In particular, its temperature stability is excellent over the full operating range of -40°C to +85°C.

The AD8314 is available in 8-lead MSOP and 8-lead LFCSP packages and consumes 4.5 mA from a 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply. When powered down, the typical sleep current is 20 µA.

AD8314ACP-EVAL is a fully populated, 4-layer, FR4-based evaluation board. For normal operation, it requires a 2.7V to 5V/10 mA power supply. The power supply should be connected to the vector pins leads labeled VPOS and GND. The RF input signal is applied to the edge-mounted SMA type RF connector (INPUT). The setpoint input signal is applied to the edge-mounted SMA type connector (VSET). The detector output signals are accessible via the edge-mounted SMA connectors (V_UP, V_DN). The circuit board can accommodate configuration in measurement mode and controller mode depending on the status of jumper (LK1).

The AD8314 is a very well priced 40-50dB range RF power detector. It's rise/fall time of 70nS is fine for power measurements most mobile phone type signals and we use it for power measurement as well as AGC applications. It's deion as "industry standard" is well deserved and designers should try this chip first in their designs, before moving onto higher spec'd chips.

AD8314
The AD8314 is excellent for our application. My only issue is with the online ordering process. I am only allowed to order 1 reel, ie 3K pieces. It does allow me to order 5k, but this will split reels. I would like to be able to order 3 reels at a time as our business for this chip is picking up. FYI, we use this power detector in our range of mobile phone signal repeaters. Each repeater has at least 2 AD8314's. Please advise how we can order 3 reels in one order.
