400 MHz TO 4000 MHz Low Noise Amplifier
The ADL5521 provides a high level of integration by incorporating the active bias and dc blocking capacitors, making it very easy to use while not sacrificing design flexibility.
The ADL5521 is easy to tune, requiring only a few external components. The device can support operation from 3 V to 5 V, and the current draw can be adjusted with the external bias resistor for applications requiring low power consumption.
The ADL5521 comes in a compact, thermally enhanced, 3 mm × 3 mm LFCSP and operates over the temperature range of −40°C to +85°C.
A fully populated evaluation board is also available.
This product has been released to the market. The data sheet contains all final specifications and operating conditions. For new designs, ADI recommends utilization of these products.
ADL5521-EVALZ is a fully populated, 4-layer, FR4-based evaluation board. For normal operation it requires a single 5 V/100 mA power supply. The 5 V power supply should be connected to the test loops labeled VPOS and GND. Alternatively, the power supply connections may be made via the two pin header, W-1. The RF input is applied to the SMA connector labeled RFIN. The RF output is available at the edge mounted SMA connector labeled RFOUT.
The purpose of the AD-TRXBOOST1-EBZ is to boost the transmit and receive signal to improve the dynamic range and increate the output power of the AD9361 around 2.45GHz which is what the board is tuned for.
