The ADP1111 is part of a family of step-up/step-down switching regulators that operates from an input voltage supply of 2 V to 12 V in step-up mode and up to 30 V in step-down mode. The ADP1111 can be programmed to operate in step-up/stepdown or inverting applications with only 3 external components.

The fixed outputs are 3.3 V, 5 V and 12 V; and an adjustable version is also available. The ADP1111 can deliver 100 mA at 5 V from a 3 V input in step-up mode, or it can deliver 200 mA at 5 V from a 12 V input in step-down mode.

Maximum switch current can be programmed with a single resistor, and an open collector gain block can be arranged in multiple configuration for low battery detection, as a post linear regulator, undervoltage lockout, or as an error amplifier.

Product Details

In order to get the correct unpopulated evaluation board with an appropriate Bill of Materials and Schematic, you need to use the button for "Request Evaluation Board" from within the design tool. Make sure the design tool is in a state that matches your desired power requirements.

This will create a template email that will request from us the proper blank evaluation board for that ADI part and your application's power parameters.


Note: Some parts have multiple blank boards for high/low current or for different topologies (Boost, SEPIC, SEPIC-Cuk), while other blank boards support multiple ADI parts. This is why it is important to run the design tool with your parameters before making your email request from the tool.

Versatile
Very versatile device with a wide range of input voltages makes it suitable for a wide range of projects. Agree with others that efficiency statistics should be provided, but otherwise the data sheet is clear with useful tables of parameters.

ADP1111 Review
The wide input voltage range is awesome ! Especially the low 2V This is why I chose this product. Although, the previous version went down to 1V ?? The manual should have an example SEPIC though. It doesn't. What if you are trying to go from 2-30V to 5V ? SEPIC example would be perfect Also, the manual absurdly doesn't mention any efficiency numbers ???

There are some major PRO: *** Low input voltage of 2V is very useful, since our project required a 2.5V input, and every other product we found in the market required minimum 3V or 3.6V ... ** Low component count was great. Especially the fact that, we didn't even need the feedback resistors for 12V *** Integrated switch was excellent. Significantly reduces the component count CONS: *** Despite tearing the manual to pieces, we couldn't find any data on EFFICIENCY analysis ! *** Not having a SEPIC option was devastating !

ADP1111-12 IS GREAT !
Not the average switch mode regulator ! The low input voltage (2V) proved to be extremely useful in our project.

Simple and easy
The product is easy to use. Fairly cheap device. Integrated safety feature The datasheet is actually very good. I wish all datasheets (in general; not company specific) would feature such a nice level of detail and *clarity* on just a few pages. Negative: Operating temperature range is too narrow
