Dual-Axis ±5 g Accelerometer with SPI Interface
The ADIS16006 is a low cost, low power, complete dual-axis accelerometer with an integrated serial peripheral interface (SPI). An integrated temperature sensor is also available on the SPI interface. The ADIS16006 measures acceleration with a full-scale range of ±5g (minimum). The ADIS16006 can measure both dynamic acceleration (vibration) and static acceleration (gravity).
The typical noise floor is 200 µg/√Hz, allowing signals below 1.9 mg (60 Hz bandwidth) to be resolved.
The bandwidth of the accelerometer is set with optional capacitors, CX and CY, at the XFILT pin and the YFILT pin. Digital output data for both axes is available via the serial interface.
An externally driven self-test pin (ST) allows the user to verify the accelerometer functionality.
The ADIS16006 is available in a 7.2 mm × 7.2 mm × 3.7 mm, 12-terminal LGA package.

The ADIS16006/PCB is a "breakout board," which provides (1) ADIS16006CCCZ and (1) interface PCB to simplify the process of "prototyping" during the early stages of system design and evaluation. The ADIS16006CCCZ is a digital accelerometer, which provides a serial peripheral interface (SPI) for all digital communications. It comes in a 12-pin LGA package. The interface PCB provides access to the ADIS16006CCCZ, using dual-row, 12-pin connectors, which supports standard ribbon cable systems and hand-soldering connection techniques.
The ADISUSB system provides a simple, PC-based tool, for evaluating iSensor products, for those who are not ready to integrate them into embedded processor systems. This system supports application software that enable basic demonstration, individual register access and data capture for each supported device. Each application software package comes with an installation wizard, which facilitates simple installation and also includes a simple USB-driver package that is easy to use. All software packages associated with the ADISUSB are compatible with the 32-bit versions of Windows XP, Vista and 7. The ADISUSB circuit board is 0.125” thick, which enables pre-drilled, pre-tapped mounting holes for each iSensor device. The mounting holes accommodate M2x0.4mm machine screws. The integrated power system eliminates the need for external power supplies in most cases, but does provide for an external power supply input, for supply-sensitivity testing. The power system uses the USB’s +5V and provides a linear regulator option for +3.3V devices.
