The TMP01 is a temperature sensor that generates a voltage output proportional to absolute temperature and a control signal from one of two outputs when the device is either above or below a specific temperature range. Both the high/low temperature trip points and hysteresis (overshoot) band are determined by user-selected external resistors. For high volume production, these resistors are available on board.

The TMP01 consists of a band gap voltage reference combined with a pair of matched comparators. The reference provides both a constant 2.5 V output and a voltage proportional to absolute temperature (VPTAT) which has a precise temperature coefficient of 5 mV/K and is 1.49 V (nominal) at 25°C. The comparators compare VPTAT with the externally set tempera-ture trip points and generate an open-collector output signal when one of their respective thresholds has been exceeded.

Hysteresis is also programmed by the external resistor chain and is determined by the total current drawn out of the 2.5 V reference. This current is mirrored and used to generate a hysteresis offset voltage of the appropriate polarity after a comparator has been tripped. The comparators are connected in parallel, which guarantees that there is no hysteresis overlap and eliminates erratic transitions between adjacent trip zones.

The TMP01 utilizes proprietary thin-film resistors in conjunc-tion with production laser trimming to maintain a temperature accuracy of ±1°C (typical) over the rated temperature range, with excellent linearity. The open-collector outputs are capable of sinking 20 mA, enabling the TMP01 to drive control relays directly. Operating from a 5 V supply, quiescent current is only 500 μA (max).

The TMP01 is available in 8-pin mini PDIP, SOIC, and TO-99 packages.

    I am using TMP01 for my voltage controlled current source (VCCS). The VCCS delivers around 3A load current at room temperature. I am setting the Tsethigh at 70 degree C and the Tsetlow at 10 degree C. The TMP01 works perfectly for my use.

It can be used for any device with an output of uncompressed digital audio (CD or DVD players DVD, minidisc, PC sound card, CD-ROM). The device does not signal processor, and therefore not able to play compressed or encoded multichannel signal (AC3, MP3, respectively. Mpeg). Separate transmitter can improve the signal to noise ratio and to reduce interference, which is especially true for PC sound card.

    Automatic control incubator
    machine not only supports the incubator constant temperature setpoint which can be in the range 35 ... 40 ° C, but occasionally includes engine rotation mechanism trays of eggs set an alarm for emergency conditions, and all the basic functions (including the maintenance of a given temperature) are duplicated to prevent serious consequences of possible failures of some elements of the machine

    incubators
    incubator thermostat is designed to maintain the required temperature in the incubator, and the function of turning trays. It is based on a controller which controls the heater and motor, via optocoupler and triac, and LCD display, which shows the current status and made ??all the necessary settings.

    Half cooked - data sheet
    Find the data sheet NOT friendly when calculating R 1-2-3 ONLY Figure 30 show some values and did not find the calculation example! full details! See for example the TMP300 of TI simple and easy to choose the the resistor for the right temperature see Figure 3 any feedback please email me

    Short summary - nice chip
    TMP01 is very nice easy to use temperature sensor. It is suitable for very simple control units where is even no need to use a microcontroler, and it is possible to design and build quite quickly simple and cheap regulation tools / devices.
