The AD823 is a dual precision, 16 MHz, JFET input op amp that can operate from a single supply of 3.0 V to 36 V or from dual supplies of ±1.5 V to ±18 V. It has true single-supply capability with an input voltage range extending below ground in single-supply mode. Output voltage swing extends to within 50 mV of each rail for IOUT ≤ 100 μA, providing outstanding output dynamic range.
An offset voltage of 800 μV maximum, an offset voltage drift of 2 μV/°C, input bias currents below 25 pA, and low input voltage noise provide dc precision with source impedances up to a Gigaohm. It provides 16 MHz, −3 dB bandwidth, −108 dB THD @ 20 kHz, and a 22 V/μs slew rate with a low supply current of 2.6 mA per amplifier. The AD823 drives up to 500 pF of direct capacitive load as a follower and provides an output current of 15 mA, 0.5 V from the supply rails. This allows the amplifier to handle a wide range of load conditions.
This combination of ac and dc performance, plus the outstanding load drive capability, results in an exceptionally versatile amplifier for applications such as A/D drivers, high speed active filters, and other low voltage, high dynamic range systems.
The AD823 is available over the industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C and is offered in both 8-lead PDIP and 8-lead SOIC packages.

Tools & Simulations
LTspice® is a powerful, fast and free simulation software, schematic capture and waveform viewer with enhancements and models for improving the simulation of analog circuits.
Models for the following parts are available in LTspice:
ADIsimPE, which is powered by SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, is a circuit simulation suite optimized for the design and development of analog and mixed signal circuits. SIMetrix mode is ideal for the simulation of general non-switching circuits. It provides full Pspice compatibility for use with industry-standard SPICE models. SIMPLIS (SIMulation Piecewise-Linear System) mode simulates the operation of switching circuits with vastly improved robustness, speed, and accuracy compared to standard SPICE. It is particularly useful for switching power supply, PLLs, and ADC/DAC applications.
Use the Analog Filter Wizard to design low-pass, high-pass, or band-pass filters with actual op amps in minutes. As you progress through the design process, you can observe the characteristics of your filter design from ideal specifications to real world circuit behavior. Quickly evaluate the tradeoffs in op amp specifications - including gain-bandwidth, noise, and supply current – to determine the best filter design for your requirements.
Use Photodiode Wizard to design a transimpedance amplifier circuit to interface with a photodiode. Select a photodiode from the library included in the tool, or enter custom photodiode specifications. Quickly observe tradeoffs between Bandwidth, Peaking (Q), and ENOB/SNR. Modify circuit parameters, and immediately see results in plots for pulse response, frequency response, and noise gain.
A utility to convert between standard units of power measurement and signal strength.
This tool estimates die temperature and power dissipation based on the supply voltages, ambient temperature, load characteristics, and package thermal data.
Product Selection Guide (1)
ADI has always placed the highest emphasis on delivering products that meet the maximum levels of quality and reliability. We achieve this by incorporating quality and reliability checks in every scope of product and process design, and in the manufacturing process as well. "Zero defects" for shipped products is always our goal.
