The Blackfin Processor coupled with the powerful new software development tools now make it possible to develop code in C/C++ more easily and efficiently than ever before. The high MIPS availability from the core processor allows for initial versions of software to be compiled and run on the DSP much earlier in the design cycle, thus allowing for quicker overall system debug to shorten time-to-market. The goal is to alleviate software as being a potential critical path element in system development.
