| | Norwood, MA(3/17/2004) - Analog Devices, Inc., (NYSE: ADI) a global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal processing applications, will lend the voices of its most senior technologists to a series of top-level panel discussions and presentations addressing analog and embedded digital technology as part of the 2004 electronicaUSA with Embedded Systems Conference (eUSA) at the Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco, March 29-April 1.
At the tradeshow, which is the largest systems design conference in North America, ADI Analog Devices technology thought leaders will join their industry peers for two engaging “industry guru” panel discussions: “The Future of Analog in a Digital World” and “Survival Guide to Embedded Media Processing Applications – a View from the Design Trenches.” In addition, ADI Analog Devices will moderate a paper session that explores wireless integration issues in multimode cellular handsets, and will offer a hands-on tutorial that considers the most efficient use of Assembly assembly code for achieving maximum performance in DSP-based systems.
The Future of Analog in a Digital World In the first guru session, Lew Counts, an Analog Devices fellow and vice president of the linear products group, and a recognized expert in the field of analog technology, will be joined by Bob Dobkin, vice president and chief technical officer, and co-founder of Linear Technology, Dennis Monticelli, chief technologist and fellow, analog products, National Semiconductor, and Tim Kalthoff, vice president of data acquisition products at Texas Instruments. The esteemed panelists will explore analog IC trends, applications, emerging markets, and market drivers that will shape the analog IC business environment to come. Counts and the other panelists will be available for press interviews following the panel discussion, which will be moderated by EETimes/Planet Analog technology editor Stephan Ohr and runs Tuesday, March 30, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. P.S.T. in Room 123 at the Moscone Center.
| Survival Guide to Embedded Media Processing Applications For the second guru session, On Wednesday, March 31, Gerald McGuire, general manager of Analog Devices’ Media Platforms and Services group, will be joined by colleagues versed in the entire design chain of an embedded media application – from conceptualization and the selection of development tools, to silicon design, programming and end application development. The program promises to demystify the embedded development process by providing real-world scenarios drawn from deep within the design trenches. In addition to Analog Devices, featured panelists will include representatives of Microsoft’s Windows Media division, communications software vendor AccelWork, RTOS (real-time operating system) and development tool vendors Express Logic and Green Hills Software, embedded software supplier Unicoi Systems, and award-winning digital media player designer Roku. Moderated by Embedded Systems Programming editor-in-chief Jim Turley, Gerald McGuire, general manager of Analog Devices’ Media and Platforms Services Group, will be joined by colleagues from AccelWork, ExpressLogic, Green Hills Software, Microsoft, Roku, and Unicoi Systems to discuss [TK]. the panel discussion will be held on Wednesday, March 31, in Room 123 at the Moscone Center from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. P.S.T.
Programming Techniques for Efficient Coding On Tuesday, March 30, Analog Devices on Tuesday, March 30 will also present a tutorial titled “Programming Techniques for Efficient Coding in Processing-intensive Environments.” Hosted by ADI Analog Devices engineers Richard Gentile, David Katz, and Tomasz Lukasiak, the how-to session will help designers recognize how DSP architectural structures promote efficient Assembly assembly coding when C isn’t able to provide the desired performance. Join ADI Analog Devices in Room 305 at the Moscone Center from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. P.S.T. for this informative presentation workshop.
Multimode Cellular and WLAN Integration On Wednesday, March 31, Doug Grant, business development director for Analog Devices’ Radio Frequency and Wireless Systems group, will moderate a paper session titled “Multimode Cellular and WLAN Integration,” which will feature presentations from Nokia, wireless terminal software and silicon provider TTPCom, and the University of California at Berkeley Extension. The tutorial will address the design challenges surrounding the integration of multiple wireless standards in a single handheld device while maintaining acceptable voice quality. The presentation will be held from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. P.S.T. in Room 220 at the Moscone Center. | | | About Analog Devices Analog Devices is a leading manufacturer of precision high-performance integrated circuits used in analog and digital signal processing applications.
