Analog Devices Releases Two Dual A/D Converters with  Lowest Power/Highest Linearity Combination Ava

Norwood, MA (06/19/2014) - Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADI) introduced today two 16-bit, 1-MSPS A/D converters with pseudo differential and differential input options. The AD7902 dual pseudo differential and AD7903 dual differential PulSAR® A/D converters enable simultaneous or independent signal chain implementation to provide two sampling solutions in one package. Each A/D converter consumes 12 mW @ 1 MSPS, which is 70 percent less power than the closest competitor. Power consumption is scaled depending on throughput speed to address thermal dissipation challenges in dense data acquisition system designs. The A/D converters feature up to +/-0.5 LSB and 94 dB SNR for exceptional accuracy and precision making them ideally suited to a wide range of high performance multichannel applications including I/Q demodulation, motor and power control, automated test equipment, data acquisition and medical instrumentation.

Both A/D converters incorporate a versatile serial interface port and are implemented as physically-isolated devices allowing for a robust signal chain design with functional safety considerations in mind. The physical isolation also allows verification and backup measurements enabling useful end-system fault detection.

The A/D converters can be designed into circuits for data acquisition applications with ADI’s ADA4841-1, ADA4941-1 or ADA4940 low-noise, low-distortion, rail-to-rail output amplifiers, the ADP7104 low-noise LDO and ADR4525 voltage reference series.
