What is Vibration Sensing?

Vibration sensing detects acceleration and deceleration occurring in a periodic manner.

Typical vibration sensing applications or functions:

  • Detect erroneous vibration for predictive, preventative maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery
  • Detect anomalous vibration for safety or security event
  • Detect acoustic vibration signature for event trigger
  • Structural health Monitoring
  • Geological and seismic equipment

Vibration sensing applications call for high-g accelerometers.

For an integrated vibration sensing solution, view ADI's iSensor® low g accelerometers and iSensor® high g accelerometers, functionally complete sensor systems with factory-calibrated, programmable sensor systems with SPI interface.
