Interface
RS-232 and RS-485 are standards for serial transmission of digital data. The RS-232 specification allows for reliable data transmission from one transmitter to one receiver at data rates of up to 20K bits/second over relatively short distances (up to 50 feet) or up to 1Mbps up to 5 feet. RS-485 uses differential signals, which can help nullify the effects of ground shifts and induced noise. It meets the requirements for a truly multi-point communications network, and the standard specifies up to 32 drivers and 32 receivers
on a single (2-wire) bus at up to 10Mbps.
