Amplifying
Amplifiers were the original electronic devices, and still provide the most extensive range of products we offer. Amplifiers can provide DC precision in the nanovolt region, and can also provide low-noise signal gain in the multi-GHz region. Amplifiers can be very versatile operational amplifiers that can be set up for a wide range of functions, or very special purpose devices such as RF log/detector amplifiers. Variable gain amplifiers work from ultrasound to radar to provide high performance over a wide dynamic range.

- AN-589 : Ways to Optimize the Performance of a Difference Amplifier
This Application Note presents several ways to build and optimize the performance of a discrete difference amplifier. It also recommends amplifiers that will make the overall solution cost/performance competitive with monolithic instrument amplifiers. - AN-584 : Using the AD813X Differential Amplifier
The AD813x differs from conventional op amps by the external presence of an additional input and output. The additional input, VOGM, controls the output common mode voltage. - AN-417 : Fast Rail-to-Rail Operational Amplifiers Ease Design Constraints in Low Voltage High Speed Systems
Movement towards lower power supply voltages is driven by the demand that systems consume less and less power coupled with the desire to reduce the number of power supply voltages in the system. The following applications are discussed: Single-Ended and Differential Input ADC Input Circuits, Video Line Driver, Active Filter, HDSL Transceiver, and Transformer Drive Circuits. - AN-402 : 02: Replacing Output Clamping Op Amps with Input Clamping Amps
So far most clamping amplifiers have relied upon an output clamping architecture and are called output clamp amps (OCAs). A new architecture called an input clamp amp (ICA) offers superior clamping accuracy and lower distortion. - AN-359 : Settling Time of Operational Amplifiers
