Dolby® Pro Logic IIx is a propriety algorithm from Dolby Laboratories intended for extending any stereo channel or 5.1 audio stream channels into a 6.1 or 7.1 channel surround audio stream. The Dolby Prologic IIx uses matrix surround decoding technology. It detects the directional cues that occur naturally in input audio content and uses these elements to create an extended-channel surround sound playback experience. Dolby Prologic IIx is suited for a variety of applications such as home or car entertainment systems, PC audio, and game consoles. Dolby Prologic IIx has three different listening audio modes, allowing the user to tailor the audio to meet different needs.
