About Anveshan 2014

What is Anveshan 2014?

Anveshan is project fellowship program conducted by Analog Devices, Bangalore to enhance system level engineering expertise. This fellowship gives students an opportunity to showcase their innovation, product design and problem solving abilities.

What is an "Entry”?

An "Entry" is the report to be submitted by the team by 31st May 2014. Please refer to the website for exact dates. For details on the format and structure of the "Entry" please refer to the website.

Who is eligible to participate in the Anveshan 2014?

Full time Bachelors / Masters students of accredited Indian technical educational institutions.

Am I allowed to be a part of multiple teams?

No, you can be part of only one team.

I'm not an Indian citizen and currently studying in an accredited Indian educational institution. Am I eligible to participate in the fellowship?

Yes, as long as you are a full time student of the institution till the finals of Anveshan 2014.

Are there any certificates / IDs etc. we should carry along with us for the final round?

Details will be emailed to the finalists at an appropriate time.

Are we allowed to modify the team composition after entry submission?

This is not generally encouraged. However under special circumstances, decisions will be taken on a case by case basis and will be at the sole discretion of Analog Devices.

Can we have mentors or guides for the challenge?

Yes, you can have a faculty member from your institute as an advisor. However they are not part of your team.

Does the whole team have to come over for the final round of presentation?

At least one team member needs to be present at Analog Devices to present your work to the Senior Technologists.

Do we need to submit any proof for our eligibility for the contest?

Proofs are to be submitted when your entry gets short listed for the final round. The selected participants will be intimated in this regard.

Do you need a separate faculty member if the institute has more than one team?

YES. The same faculty member cannot supervise two teams. In the event it is found that a Fellowship Participant or a faculty member is a member of more than one team, then both the teams shall be disqualified from the Fellowship.

How and when will we know the results of the first round?

The results of the first round will be declared on the website. The participating teams will also be notified through email.

How can we participate in the contest?

Your first step is to register your team on the website. You can then submit your proposal through the submit page of the website. The Anveshan design could also be part of the student’s final year project with necessary approvals from the department and faculty advisor.

I'm a sponsored student by an organization. Am I eligible to be a part of a team?

Yes. As long as you are a full time student of your educational institution, you can participate in the fellowship.

I'm currently a full time student but will be passing out of my college before the finals of Anveshan 2014? Am I eligible for the fellowship?

No. You should be a full time student to be able to participate in the finals of Anveshan 2014.

I have already passed out of my university recently. Am I eligible to be a part of a team?

No. Only full time students currently enrolled in an accredited Indian technical educational institution are eligible.

I have submitted a similar solution in another contest / conference / publication? Can I also submit it in Anveshan 2014?

No. Your entry should not have been submitted anywhere else at any time. It should not be copied from any existing source. If at any stage, your proposal is found to violate this criteria, your team may get disqualified from the contest. 

Is it valid to form a team with members from different institution?

No, the team members must belong to the same institution.

Is it valid to have a single member team?

No. The team size should be a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 members. In addition to students, each team should have a faculty advisor.

Is there a file format for submitting the entry?

Yes. Pdf or Microsoft word file format should be followed. The proposal must be written within 4 single spaced pages, including figures, tables and references. A picture is worth a thousand words, so you are strongly encouraged to use pictures and videos in your proposal. We encourage you to upload a video with your proposal presentation as well. 

Is there a format for submitting the entry?

Yes. The report format can be found on the contest website.

Is there a limit to the file size?

Yes. The file should not be greater than 5 MB in memory size, and video size is up to 100MB.

What if I have more queries regarding the contest?

What should be the team size?

The team size should be a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 members.

When and where will be the Demo round?

You have to be ready for the concept demo/poster presentation by February-March 2014. The exact date for partial demo and project presentations will be intimated at least a month in advance. This will be at the Analog Devices Bangalore office.

Will our entry be valid if I submit a project without submitting a proposal?

No. Proposal submission is the first and a necessary step to enter the contest. We encourage all teams to submit proposals as soon as possible, as it will help us to keep you posted on the latest updates / timelines / changes about the contest.

Will there be travel grant to participate in different rounds at Analog Devices?

Analog Devices will fund the project development and travel cost up to a maximum of Rs.50,000 per team.

Will we be provided accommodation to participate in the final round?

It is the duty of the team members to find suitable accommodation. Analog Devices will fund the project development and travel cost up to a maximum of 50,000 per team.
