Introduction

This Technical Note describes the evaluation board for the AD5426/AD5432/AD5443 Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs), 8-, 10- and 12-bit current output DACs respectively. They operate from a +2.5 V to +5.5 V power supply, making them suited to battery powered applications and many other applications.

The board consists of the DAC and a current to voltage amplifier, AD8065 (while excellent for DC performance, the Bandwidth performance of the combined DAC and amplifier is limited to approximately 8 MHz. Included on the evaluation board is a 10 V reference, the ADR01. An external reference may also be applied via an SMB input. Also included in the evaluation kit is a CD-ROM with self installing software to control the DAC. The software simply allows the user to write a code to the device.
