Product Description

The AD5502 is a low-cost, precision, fully integrated 16-bit converter offering a programmable voltage output designed to meet the requirements of industrial process control applications. The output voltage range is programmable to provide four ranges; 0V to 5V, 0V to 10V, 0V to 40V, ±5V and ±10V. Analog outputs are short circuit protected and can drive capacitive loads of 1uF. The device is specified to operate with a single power supply range from 10.8 V to 42 V and a dual power supply range up to ±26.4V.

The flexible serial interface is SPI and MICROWIRE compatible and can be operated in 3-wire mode to minimize the digital isolation required in isolated applications. The device also includes a power-on-reset function ensuring that the device powers up in a known state and an asynchronous CLR pin which sets the outputs to zero-scale / mid-scale voltage output.The total output error is typically 0.05% FSR.
