The ADuM5230 and the ADuM6132 iCoupler products integrate isolated high-side and low-side outputs with ADI's proprietary isoPower integrated, isolated power supply. This level of integration delivers half-bridge gate drivers that reduce the number of components and board space needed in applications such as motor drives, power supplies, and solar power inverters. Please visit the ADuM5230 or ADuM6132 product pages for more information or please see the recent press release.

RS-232

Featured Products
ADM3232E - ±15 kV ESD Protected, 3.3 V, RS-232 Line Driver/Receiver
ADM3101E - ±15 kV ESD Protected, 3.3 V Single-Channel RS-232 Line Driver/Receiver
ADM101E - Craft Port™ Tiny RS-232 Transceiver to Portable Applications
The RS-232 specification allows for reliable data transmission from one transmitter to one receiver at data rates of up to 20K bits/second over relatively short distances (up to 50 feet). On more recent RS-232 Transceiver chips, data rates of up to 1Mbps are achievable over shorter distances (up to 5 feet). The most common applications for RS-232 Transceivers are computers and peripherals, mobile phone data cables and diagnostic data ports. Analog Devices offers a wide range of RS-232 Transceivers to suit many applications.

RS-485

Featured Products
ADM1486 - +5 V Low Power RS-485 PROFIBUS Transceiver
ADM2486 - iCoupler® High Speed Isolated RS-485 Tranceiver
ADM4851 - Half Duplex RS-485/RS-22 Transceiver w/500kbps Data Rate
Analog Devices offers a wide range of RS-485 Transceivers to suit our customers’ needs. ADI’s RS-485 portfolio includes integrated iCoupler® Isolated RS-485 Transceivers, that are superior to the discrete optocoupler solutions.

When communicating at high data rates, or over long distances differential data transmission offers superior performance in most applications. Differential signals can help nullify the effects of induced noise signals that can appear as common mode voltages on a network.

The most common use of RS-485 is in RS-485 based industrial fieldbus networks (connecting programmable logic controllers and motor controllers etc..) Other common uses are point of sale terminals in stores, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and remote meters. An Analog Devices RS-485 transceiver delivers all the functions of the EIA-485 standard and much more...
