The ADV212 has the following tools available to evaluate its performance (for more information, contact your local ADI distributor).
The ADV212-EB HD consists of a printed circuit board designed to demonstrate the functionality of the ADV212 video compression codec. The ADV212-EB HD accepts high definition 1080i/720p video signals in SDI [SMPTE292/296M] format. It is also possible to encode/decode pixel data over the ADV212's host interface, using pixel input/output over the PCI interface. Key features include:

Alberio is a JPEG2000 video streaming evaluation/prototype platform based on the ADV212EB-HD and is suitable as a basis for software application development using the ADV212EB-HD. Alberio enables the implementation of JPEG20000 over a network environment for both still and moving images as well as incorporating other development features.
The software codec that is distributed with Alberio provides limited playback capability on the PC and also demonstrates the interoperability of the ADV212 with other software codecs. (Please note that Alberio is a tool that aids in the evaluation of the ADV212 and not intended to be a stand-alone codec.)
The ADV212 FPGA Evaluation System contains a ADV212 daughter card on a Xilinx platform. It allows the user to evaluate the ADV212 for parameters and performance when used in a stand-alone application via switch settings on the board.
