The AD7262 and the AD7264, are dual, 12-bit/14-bit, high speed, low power, successive approximation ADC's, that operate from a single 5 V power supply and features throughput rates up to 1MSPS, per on-chip ADC. Two complete ADC functions allow simultaneous sampling and conversion of two channels. The device contains two ADCs, each preceded by a true differential analog input with a PGA. In addition, the AD7264/AD7262 contains four comparators.
The evaluation tools for the AD7264 incorporate:
The Eval-AD7262/AD7264 board has enhanced functionality and operates in conjunction with EVAL-CED1Z. Software for controlling the AD7264/AD7262 is provided in conjunction with the EVAL-CED1Z. This software enables the user to perform detailed analysis of the ADC's performance. This analysis includes, AC (FFT) and DC (linearity, waveform and histogram plots) analysis. The software was developed with Labview and both the source code and the executable are available. Interfacing to the Eval-AD7262/AD7264 is through a 96-way connector. This 96-way connector is compatible with the EVAL-CED1Z. See below for the relevant documentation for the system including technical notes and software downloads.
al-AD7262/AD7264 also incorporates standalone capability which can be selected by setting the appropriate link options. The board includes circuitry for converting a single ended signal to a differential signal but since each ADC on the AD7262/AD7264 is proceeded by an internal PGA, no external buffers is required. Accordingly, we recommend that the AD7262/AD7264 analog inputs be driven directly with a differential signal.
