AD8322 Evaluation Board
Introduction
The AD8322 is a low cost digitally controlled variable gain amplifier optimized for coaxial line driving applications such as cable modems that are designed to the MCNS-DOCSIS upstream standard. A 8-bit serial word determines the desired output gain over a 42 dB range resulting in gain changes of 6 dB/LSB. Full data on the AD8322 and the evaluation board features is available in the AD8322 data sheet available from Analog Devices and should be consulted in conjunction with this Technical Note when using the Evaluation Board. On-board components include an input transformer to convert single ended input signals into a differential signal, a diplexer to allow insertion into a cable modem system, and various options for input and output terminations.
